Thigh lift is a procedure to lift and tighten the upper inner thighs. It is a problem seen as toe soft upper inner thigh skin loses its elasticity with time and in circumstances where patients lose a lot of weight. It can be unattractive and result in problems because the thigh skin can rub.
Thigh lift is performed under general anaesthetic in a hospital. It usually involves some liposuction to both reduce the bulk of the thigh fat and the excision of fat and skin high on the inner thigh near the groin. Importantly the deep stronger tissues are sewn to the ligamentous tissue attached to the pelvis using non-dissolving sutures. The skin is then closed.
As you might imagine, recovery can be somewhat uncomfortable. The wounds are in an awkward place and a garment may need to be worn. Activity will be limited for a couple of weeks and then resumed appropriately.
This procedure can provide a nice contour of the inner thigh and can reduce rubbing of the thighs.
Every patient is individually assessed and Dr. Newton’s fee will reflect the type and complexity of the procedure required.
At your consultation with Dr. Newton you will discuss the costs with our office manager. The costs will be explained and you will receive a detailed written costing. If a rebate is applicable it will be clearly defined in your costing.
Wounds in the groin area can be problematic. The perineum can also be affected.
